When I was a kid, going to an amusement park was a rare treat indeed.
Cedar Point and Kennywood were far-off places visited only a few
times in one’s young life. Once a year, the traveling carnival
came to the local high school parking lot, and it was the absolute
epiphany of my childhood.
How cool it must have been to have grown up in Huntington, with
Camden Park right nearby.
My kids love Camden Park, especially my daughter. She spends the
entire winter asking us how much longer till the park opens.
We made our first trip of the year a few weeks ago. In her usual
enthusiastic fashion, Emily threw herself headlong into having a
blast. All the park workers got a kick out of her. |
